Raise a stein with millions of new friends.
Every fall, Munich throws the world’s most famous party. Oktoberfest fills enormous festival tents with long wooden tables, oompah bands, liter steins and millions of visitors in lederhosen and dirndls, and somehow everybody ends up singing together.
Outside the tents, Munich is a gorgeous, easygoing city. The Glockenspiel chimes over Marienplatz, beer gardens fill up under chestnut trees and King Ludwig’s fairytale castle, Neuschwanstein, is an easy day trip into the Alps.
